It's become a bit of a game for us. An intentional choice to only bring into the house the food we need for the next couple of days. We laugh as we try to piece together a meal with whatever scraps we can find. Sometimes it backfires on us as we end up going out to eat more often than we should, but that's just us being lazy. It gets so bad sometimes that when friends come to the house, they question if we even live there. No chips, no snacks, no extras. Just a few essentials so we don't die of dehydration or starvation.
But what if it wasn't a choice. What if it wasn't a situation that we laugh about, but desperately cry. What if instead of trying to refill our water bottles with cold filtered water in the fridge, we were thankful just to have one plastic bottle to refill in the stream at the bottom of the hill, if there was water at all? What if our empty refrigerator didn't represent our minimalist attitude, but our hungry reality? For so many people across the world it is. What if you could help?
