Matt Clarke's Morning Messages

Come and See

Written by Matt Clarke | December 16, 2025

He had stumbled on a great discovery. He was hanging out, just chatting it up with a buddy and their mentor as the man walked by. When he did, their mentor, John, told them, "Stop following me around, that's the guy you want to be with."

So, they left John and tailed this stranger they called Jesus. When Jesus caught them in his rearview, he asked them, "What's up?" And then invited them to come along for the ride. "Come and see," He told them.

They did follow Jesus, but instead of trying to get some kind of personal advantage or a leg up on others by keeping it to himself, Andrew decided to go find his brother and share the discovery. And it rocked Simon's world.

"Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, was one of these men who heard what John said and then followed Jesus. Andrew went to find his brother, Simon, and told him, 'We have found the Messiah' (which means "Christ"). Then Andrew brought Simon to meet Jesus. Looking intently at Simon, Jesus said, 'Your name is Simon, son of John - But you will be called Cephas' (which means "Peter"). (John 1:40-42)

What have you learned that could help someone else?

Are there things in your life that, if only you were willing to share them, others' lives could be changed forever? Have you ever considered that you may just be the one that God has chosen to impact another person?

When Andrew brought his brother Simon to Jesus, Jesus immediately changed his name to Peter, which means "The Rock". A few years later, the Messiah told Peter that he was the rock upon which He would build His church. All because of the connection Andrew went out of his way to make. He wasn't concerned with his own promotion and gladly set his brother up for it. He learned something, he shared it, and it multiplied.

Consider your profession for a minute, and ask yourself, "What more can I do?" Is there someone else I can help, someone else I can call, someone else I can share what I have learned so that they, too, may benefit, even if it means they get more and I get less? A trade secret, a script, a product, or a process? Shared knowledge is a rising tide, and a shared blessing is a double blessing. Find one more to help and watch your business be blessed.

Consider your home, your friends, and your community. Is your faith something you think is private? Why? While it is an individual relationship, there are people out there who may just need an introduction. A "come and see" moment. You may be that connection and could set the table for a huge banquet to come.

Be a multiplier. Seek wisdom and share it. The more you do that, the more opportunities you will have. Come and see.
