Two armies stood against one another on opposite hills with a valley between them. Neither army attacked. ONE soldier would come out and taunt the other side. He was HUGE, over 9 feet tall. A real giant! He would challenge his enemy to come and fight him, but nobody dared.
Until one day, a young man, David showed up. He was way too small and young to fight. When he got there, he was amazed that everyone was paralyzed by fear. Something had to be done.
David knew it was the right thing to do. He also knew who had his back.
So, David went out where the giant stood, looked him in the eye, and took him down with a perfectly placed shot to the forehead, then used the giant’s own sword to finish him.
David didn’t choose the battle, but he chose to act.
We don’t get to choose our battles or the size of the giants in our lives, but we do get to choose to stand or turn and run. Don’t be afraid, you can fight, and you can win! This world needs a few more people to step forward and take a stand on what is right.
It is not a matter of size, but a matter of heart. If your principles are right, and your heart is steadfast, then stand firm.
The Bible says, “The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
What giants are you fighting today? Take courage, you know what is right, and stand firm, the Lord has got your back.
