Growing up in Massachusetts, winter always brought new adventures- snow forts, bumper skiing (please don’t ask), and ice skating. We learned really quickly to never walk on ice over moving water. It may look frozen, but it never really is. You can only walk on a pond and only when you know the ice is thick. Moving water doesn’t allow things to build up. A pond, on the other hand, allows ice to settle, algae to grow, a lot of underwater plants, bugs, and nasty things of all types, but not in a stream.
Recently, I woke up with my head in a pond. I was so congested that my brain hardly functioned. Whatever hit me had been germinating all night and was trying to take root. I had two choices: stay a pond or become a stream. I chose a stream. I did my normal reading and got my frozen heart warmed up and my brain cells moving. I exercised. I got the blood pumping and exchanged stale air for fresh. The harder I worked, the better I felt.
Nothing breeds stagnation like stagnation and darkness like darkness.
"Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see." (Isaiah 60:1)
This is so true with your faith as well. If you don’t stir your heart daily, it slowly ices over and becomes so thick and cold it hardly beats. If you want to be alive with love, attraction, and good energy, move your heart daily with the Word of God.
Be a stream, not a pond.
Don’t feel good? Get up and get moving, it will help. Don’t let those germs sit still; move them out.
Heart feeling a little cold and thickening up? Stir your heart with God’s Word and then go share it and your love with someone. You will feel it thaw in no time.
Be a stream, not a pond. A pond may be great for skating or fishing, but it's a terrible way to live. There is a reason you get sick when you drink pond water. Get your current moving and your light shining!
