Matt Clarke's Morning Messages

No Impostors Please

I can't stand to watch others, I want to be on the field. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy going to sporting events as a spectator, but I would much rather be in the game than on the sidelines. Admittedly, growing up, if I didn't think I could make the starting team, I picked a different sport. I wanted to have impact, compete, and go for the gold, not a participation ribbon.

It's really no different in any area of life. If you say yes to something,  you are saying yes to being on the field and in the battle. You are saying yes to doing the work and being fully committed.

When I said yes to a sport...all in

When I said yes to Churchill...all in

When I said yes to Susan...all in

When I said yes to Jesus...all in

"Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen." (Ephesians 3:20-21)

Charles Spurgeon once said, "As a Christian, you are either a missionary or an impostor."

Meaning you are either in the fight to spread his love or on the sidelines pretending. And we all have our own unique way of doing so. When you consider the above verse from the book of Ephesians (3:20), it reveals a power already inside of you to be used by God and for God. When we align that power with God's purpose, we are able to do infinitely more than we can ask or think. That's a lot, as I have thought about and asked for a whole bunch!

Our core convictions of being the hardest working person in the room and being the expert revolve around this idea. Whatever you choose to do, do it in such a way that it inspires others, or stay on the sidelines and stay out of the way.

We are looking for starters, not pretenders. You have within you the God given power of great accomplishment. Have courage and put it to work, for your team, for your family, for God. Say yes. Get in the battle and keep fighting.
