The #1 Exercise Equipment of All Time

The list is endless, and I've tried many of them. Bowflex, universal machines, free weights, adjustable weights, bands, ropes, bikes, boxes, stairmasters, the shake weight, rowers, balance balls, and countless other products that claim to be able to transform you physically.

There are gyms, places for yoga (hot, cold, and with animals), pilates, stretch labs, cross fit, boxing, Barre, and who knows what else. With all of the options out there for exercise, I have discovered the one location and piece of equipment that, without question, stands above the rest. The ground.

After spending my teenage years with a mouth bigger than my body and a lifetime of trying to get in and stay in reasonable physical condition, the single best location and equipment I've discovered is the ground. It comes with no excuses. It is 24/7, easy to use, has no fees, is always available, and has no waiting. I determined long ago that if I was going to be consistent, I had to strip away all of the excuses.

Sure, gyms and equipment are great, and I use them whenever I can, but not being able to get to, or have access to something does not absolve me from the commitment to act. All I need is the ground. Anytime, anywhere...no excuses.

"But Moses pleaded with the Lord, 'O Lord, I'm not very good with words. I never have been, and I'm not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled." (Exodus 4:10)

Excuses have been tossed around since the beginning of time. Heck, even Adam blamed Eve, and Eve blamed the snake! What would have happened to the Israelites if God had listened to Moses' excuses about not wanting to lead his people out of captivity? They would still be making bricks out of straw for the Egyptians.

If you make a commitment to accomplish something, the first step is to eliminate the excuses. Otherwise, it's just a wish.

It's not what's behind you or even what's before you that determines your future, but what's inside you. Do you have a committed heart?

What is it you are committed to accomplishing? Get in better shape? Grow your business? Improve your marriage or another relationship? Grow spiritually? What are the consistent actions that need to happen to bring that about? What excuses are in the way?

Breakthrough lives on the other side of the excuse. Get out of bed, get off the couch, hit the ground, and get to work. Time to stop making bricks and pursue freedom.
