Matt Clarke's Morning Messages

Sing, Teach, Eat, Share, and Grow

We recently had a great day with some teammates visiting our office in Nashville from different parts of the country and various teams. From the East Coast to the West Coast and places in between, it just worked out that schedules crossed, and fellowship, ideas, feedback, teamwork, perspective, and energy converged for a few days. I simply love the opportunity to spend time with people I don't get to see on a regular basis. (And there are always a few tasty meals involved!)

When good people with a common purpose but varying experiences, perspectives, and ideas come together, we get better. It's in the collective that we move to the best that can be done, not the best that we know how...so long as everyone sets aside their personal agendas and has the humility, hunger, and willingness to do so.

"Well, my brothers and sisters, let's summarize. When you meet together, one will sing, another will teach, another will tell some special revelation God has given, one will speak in tongues, and another will interpret what is said. But everything that is done must strengthen all of you." (1 Corinthians 14:26)

This is what teamwork looks like. People who have different gifts, skills, ideas, and experiences come together to strengthen each other. They give each other room to express, time to absorb, and the openness of working together to achieve a common goal.

If you want to improve your business, surround yourself with trusted people who think differently from you. People who can challenge what you believe to be true so that your thinking is broadened to consider better ways to do things.

Fellowship produces positive team energy.

Positive team energy fuels new thinking and momentum. New thinking and momentum lead to better results.

As Paul says, get together and sing, teach, tell some stories, break some bread, share, and work to understand each other. And when you do, everyone benefits, and the results will show.
